Haelvoet launches an innovative seating solution Altiflow to prevent pressure ulcers

Haelvoet introduces a revolutionary innovation: Altiflow, an active seat that automatically and dynamically regulates pressure points. This technology goes beyond comfort, as it also actively contributes to the recovery of patients and residents.

From bed to relax chair: technology against pressure ulcers

Pressure ulcers are currently already addressed today with alternating mattresses in beds. Haelvoet is now taking this approach to the next level by integrating the same technology into the entire range of relax chairs, in collaboration with a specialised partner.

The active seat consists of a hybrid system of memory foam and integrated air cushions that work together to provide optimal support for the patient. The seat contains six pneumatic air channels that run across the seating surface. A silent pump (only 12 dB) mounted on the back of the relax chair alternately controls the channels of the anti-decubitus cushion via an intelligent algorithm that takes into account the patient's posture and body shape. This ensures continuous redistribution of pressure points without stressing surrounding areas.

Comfort, safety and efficiency in one relax chair

This technology makes sitting an active contribution to the recovery process of patients and residents. The anti-decubitus seat is an innovation that seamlessly combines comfort, safety and efficiency.

Flexible integration in the Haelvoet relax chair range

A key advantage of the Altiflow Seat is its broad applicability. Thanks to the removable seat cushion, both new and existing Haelvoet relax chairs, including ZenSo, Avento and Mauro, can be equipped with this active seating technology in just a few seconds. This allows care facilities to respond flexibly to the evolving needs of their patients..
